Submissions FAQ
General Guidelines
The intent of Gutter Prince Cabal is to serve as a launching platform for upcoming bands in the Asia/Pacific region.
This generally includes;
Northeast Asia
Southeast Asia
South and Southwest Asia
Oceania
We work with bands to get their first professional release out (typically an Ep or debut album). Usually this will be on a one-and-done arrangement, however where we have released an EP or split an EP release with another label we may opt to do the debut album.
In some countries where its more common for bands to release material straight to digital we may pick up a non debut album at our discretion on the basis it still meets the “first professional release” criteria.
We review submissions and make decisions as a collective, and a decision on whether to release something and on what format/s depends on a range of factors including;
Personal enjoyment of the material (most important)
Existing production schedule (will determine time frame)
Available budget and resources (will determine if we can offer anything and what we can offer format wise)
The label is run entirely by volunteers and operates from a combination of sales and personal expense. As profit is not a primary motive all funds go back into helping artists release records.
Do you accept bands from other regions?
No. Our label is intended to serve as a launching platform for emerging artists in our region. While its always great to see people out there playing extreme music and we’re happy to hear it our mission statement is very clear.
What if my band has members from the region but isn’t based in the Asia-Pacific?
We would look at the primary base of activity for the band and make a determination. We would likely decline on that basis.
